Your Own Home Sun Tanning Bed: Cheaper, Cleaner, More Privacy!

Sun Tanning Beds are widely used today because people love to have a great tan year around. For this reason, many people have purchased tanning beds or tables for their homes.

Do you frequently visit a tanning salon?  Why not save some money by purchasing your very own sun tanning bed?

Here are some great tips if you are considering purchasing a home tanning unit.

First off, were you aware there is more than one type of sun tanning bed?  The type of bed you use will have an effect on the type of tan you get.

The first type is called a low pressure bed. This is the most common and you will find it in more homes than other types.

With a low pressure bed, UV rays are emitted in approximately the same range as natural sunlight.

The downside of the low pressure bed, though, is it gives you the highest likelihood of getting a sun burn.  As a result it is not a good choice for fair skinned people, redheaded people, or anyone who easily burns.

The second type of sun tanning bed is called the high pressure bed. High pressure beds put out a higher amount of UVA rays.

The high pressure beds still give you a golden tan — but you’ll have to work longer to get it. Unfortunately, these high pressure beds are usually more expensive.

Another option is the stand up tanning bed. As the name implies, these can be used while you stand. Many people use them for just a few minutes each day.

Stand up tanning beds may also come with booths that expose your entire body to the tanning lights. Many people prefer this because it gives an even tan.

Another advantage to standing up is your skin does not touch foreign surfaces. Many tanners prefer that.

In addition there are canopy tanning beds and facial tanning lights.

A major advantage of home sun tanning beds is privacy. There have been many reports of tanners being secretly video taped in salons.

Certainly the majority of tanning salons supervise their employees.  Even so, many women have lingering fears each time they disrobe in their “private” tanning room.  And it is certainly understandable because many prefer tanning in the nude.

Cleanliness is another factor that weighs heavily in favor of home sun tanning beds. Many tanning salon patrons find it disagreeable to lay on the same hard surface that hundreds, even thousands, have laid on before them.

Sadly, not all tanning salons are kept sterile. Many are not even clean!

There are many reasons why sun tanning beds are a great investment for anyone who wants to keep a year long tan.

The cost of owning a home sun tanning bed is much cheaper than regular visits to a tanning salon. Home tanning also provides you with greater privacy and cleanliness.

Sun tanning has long been a favorite past time of people all over the world.  However, news reports leave no question that there is a direct link between the sun and skin cancer.  It is no wonder that sun safety is on the minds of so many people.

What is the safe amount of sun exposure?  How can you reduce your risk of skin cancer while still enjoying a relatively safe tan?

It is important to do your own research and make your own determination.  Don’t let someone else think for you.

Always take the necessary special sun precautions — particularly if you are a person who loves to have a deep, dark tan.   Don’t deceive yourself — too much sun is dangerous for anyone.  So even if you are a sun worshiper, please remember you still need to use proper sun protection.

Stay safe.  Protect yourself and your family.  Remember that sun protection for children is the primary responsibility of every parent.
